SBI PO Exam Pattern 2022: State Bank of India will be conducting SBI PO Exam in three phases: Online Prelims Exam, Mains Exam and Interview Process to recruit 1673 posts of Probationary Officers. SBI PO Exam Pattern

The candidate has to qualify in all three stages (Prelims, Mains & Interview) with a minimum cut-off marks decided by the authorities. Prelims will be of qualifying nature, however, Mains & Interview marks will be considered while releasing the merit list. To qualify for each stage, go through the below section and prepare as per the latest SBI PO Exam Pattern.

SBI PO 2022 Prelims Exam Pattern – (Phase III)

The first stage for SBI PO 2022 Recruitment is the Preliminary Exam, in which the aspirant has to qualify in order to get shortlisted for SBI PO Mains Exam. The SBI PO Prelims Exam will have 3 sections:

1.  Reasoning
2. Quantitative Aptitude
3. English Language

1. There will be 3 sections in SBI PO Prelims Exam like any other PO Exam: English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability.

2. A total of 100 Objective type questions will be asked in SBI PO Prelims Exam 2022.

3. The duration of the exam is 01 hour (20 minutes for each section).

4. SBI PO Prelims is qualifying nature and marks will not be counted while preparing the merit list.

Penalty for wrong answer: 0.25 marks will be deducted for every question attempted wrong by a candidate. No deduction will be there in marks if a question is left unattempted or blank by a candidate.

Selection criteria for Main Examination: Category wise merit list will be drawn on the basis of the aggregate marks scored in the Preliminary Exam. There will be no sectional cut-off. Candidates numbering 10 times the number of vacancies (approx.) in each category will be shortlisted for the Main Examination from the top of the above merit list.

SBI PO 2022 Mains Exam Pattern

The SBI PO Mains Exam will comprise of Objective & Descriptive Section, which is described below in detail:

1. Objective paper to be completed in 3 hours and descriptive paper in 30 minutes.

2. In the objective part, there will be 4 sections namely Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis & Interpretation & General/ Economy/ Banking Awareness, and English Language.

3. A descriptive paper will be conducted along with the above-mentioned online test and there will be 2 questions in this paper.

4. Penalty for wrong answer: 0.25 marks will be deducted for every question attempted wrong by a candidate in SBI PO Mains Exam. No deduction will be made in marks if a question is left unattempted or blank by a candidate in the exam.

Candidates meeting the required Cut off in SBI Prelims will be eligible to appear for the Mains Exam. The syllabus for SBI PO Mains is quite similar to the IBPS PO Exam. There is changes in the Mains Section with an increase in the weightage of General Economy/ Banking Awareness and the duration of the test will be 3 hours.

The Descriptive Test has a duration of 30 minutes with a score of 50 marks. This test is conducted to test the writing skills of candidates via Letter Writing & Essay Writing.

Phase-1: SBI PO Preliminary Examination

This is an online examination where the candidates must solve the question paper in one 1 hour for 100 marks. The test consists of 3 sections. Candidates must know that the sectional cut-off in the Preliminary Exam has been removed and the overall score of all the sections will be considered for selection to the next round.. The cut-off or minimum passing marks for each section is decided by the Bank each year depending on the difficult of the test. The section-wise division of the marks is given below:

(i) Objective Test: The objective test of 3 hours duration consists of 4 Sections for total 200 marks. The objective test will have separate timing for every section.

(ii) Descriptive Test: The Descriptive Test of 30 minutes duration with two questions for 50 marks will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay).

1. All the questions will be objective in nature.
2. This Mains paper will have four sections of a total of 200 marks.
3. The duration of the SBI PO Mains Exam will be 3 hours.
4. The objective test will have separate timing for every section.
5. There will be no sectional cut off. There will be only an overall cut off.
6. There will be a penalty of 0.25 marks for every incorrect Multiple Choice Question.
7. The Descriptive Paper of 50 marks is compulsory to attempt.

Note: Descriptive paper of a candidate will be checked only if they qualify in the Objective test as per the qualifying marks decided by the Bank.
